Middle Eastern Dessert Basbousa
It is an Egyptian
dessert or you can say a Middle Eastern Dessert very tasty dessert. A kind of
semolina cake which is very easy to make. You can enjoy it with your family and
friends on weekend and parties
Ingredients
v 1 cup
+ 250 grams semolina
v 60
grams of powdered sugar
v 80 ml
of refined oil or butter
v 50
grams coconut powder
v 250 ml
of milk
v 1 tsp
of baking powder
v 1 tsp of
vanilla essence
Sugar Syrup
v 1/2
cup sugar
v 150 ml
cup water
v a
lemon slice
v 1 tsp
rose water or orange blossom
Working
v Take a
baking mold grease the surface with oil spread oil every edges sprinkle dry
semolina as mold is ready
v Pour the mixture in
mold set it properly make a marks as shown
arrange the peeled almonds on it
v Before baking pre heat the oven at 180 degree and then add the basbousa to oven
v To make a sugar syrup take sugar syrup ingredients that are
sugar, lemon slice, and tap rose wate.
v Sugar taste can be adjusted cook until sugar get dissolved
sugar syrup is ready remove the lemon slice turn off the flame
v Check with the help of
knife if it properly baked or not cut the pieces with the help of marks pour
the sugar syrup pour the syrup when basbousa is hot
v Proceed to serve perfectly
baked from inside, serve in a plate and pour sugar syrup 2-3 tbsp. on it
v Our delicious basbousa

Arabian Dessert Kunafa
Kunafa is a traditional Arabian dessert made
with spun pastry called kataifi, soaked in sweet, sugar-based syrup, and it is usually
enjoyed with family and friends on weekend and parties.
~Kunafa can be served with Honey as well~
Ingredients
v 350 grams
of vermicelli or kunafa dough
v 4 tbsp
butter
v 1/8
tsp orange food color
v 250 ml
milk
v 3 tbsp
sugar
v 1/4
cup milk + 1 tbsp corn flour
v 100 grams
of processed cheese or any cream cheese
v Or you
can use fresh cream or Milk cream instead of any cheese
Sugar Syrup
v 1/2
cup sugar
v 150 ml
cup water
v a
lemon slice
v 1 tsp
rose water or orange blossom
Working
v To make
kunafa i have taken 350 g vermicelli if you can arrange kunafa dough it will be
good although it is available in middle east easily but you can make this dough
with this vermicelli taste is same as kunafa dough
v Add 4 tbsp
melted butter you can either salted or unsalted butter unsalted is preferable orange
food color 1/8 tsp food color is optional mix it by using hand butter get mixed
properly we need to make creamy mixture for kunafa
v Boil
250 ml milk after boil add sugar 3 tbsp sugar can be adjusted add corn flour and
milk mixture stir regularly to avoid lump formation cook it for 1.5 to 2 min at
medium flame
v Add
cheese cream you can use any creamy cheese cook it at low flame let the cheese
get dissolve in mixture when cheese get dissolve turn off flame keep the
mixture aside
v Now to
prepare sugar syrup sugar and water both 1/2 cup cook it until sugar get
dissolved when sugar get dissolved cook it further for 1.5 to 2 min at medium
flame turn off the flame add 1 tsp rose or orange blossom you
can use any food essence mix it and keep the syrup for later use
v Take a
non stick pan also need 1 more pan to flip the kunafa you can also use any flat
lid of your vessel grease both the pan with butter you can also use ghee for greasing
spread the butter/oil evenly
v Similarly
grease the second pan now add half quantity of vermicelli in deep pan set with
the help of any bowl as shown make it firm from the surface pour all the cream
should not touch the pan edges else it will stick on the pan then cover the
cream with vermiceli and again press gently to avoid cream leakage set
it properly
v Put
the pan at medium flame for 1 min put the heavy bottom pan or strainer flame is
high for 1 min, after 1 min slow the flame and cook for 10 min
v Use knife
to remove from the edges then put the flat pan greased before use it to flip
and cook from other side make sure heavy bottom pan/strainer is there on flame else
it will cause overcooked of vermicelli cook it this side as well for 10 min
v Now this
way our kunafa is ready pour the sugar syrup on it directly serve it from pan
otherwise it will break garnish it with some dry fruits our kunafa is ready to
serve looking so tempting
