Cinnamon
rolls
Ingredients
- 570g strong
white bread flour, plus extra for dusting
- 7g sachet fast-action dried yeast
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 50g golden caster sugar
- 200ml warm milk
- 2 eggs
- 100g butter, softened, plus extra for
the tin
- 2 tbsp golden syrup
For the filling
- 150g light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 125g butter, room temperature
For the icing
- 50g soft cheese
- 50g icing sugar
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
· STEP 1
Take a bowl
of a stand mixer with tablespoon of salt. Tip the all ingredients for dough
expect butter and golden syrup, whisk everything until it comes together into a
dough now ti[ it out in bowl and slowly add butter 2 to 3 tablespoon at a time
while mixing slowly. Shape the butter by hand until smooth now cover and freeze
for 30 mins. Or for at least 1 hour.
· STEP 2
see that butter and line the
base and sides of a deep baking tray.now to make filling take sugar and mix the it with the cinnamon
and take a large nip of sea salt, then set aside 2 tablespsoon. Beat in the butter to form a thick paste.
· STEP 3
Now you need to Lay the dough
on a floured surface and roll to a neat rectangle and
spread it over the filling, so it’s completely covered. Fold the
bottom third of the dough into the middle, then fold over again to cover the
top third. Leave the dough again for
another 30 mins.
· STEP 4
Now again
roll the dough from an other side and roll it up from long edge tightly now cut
it in half on a tray and freeze it for around 15-20 minutes. Now cut them in 10
to 12 equal slices and arrange them well. Now put all slices on tin and leave
it in fridge for at least 1 hour or better to keep it for 24 hours.
· STEP 5
Heat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas and now bake the
buns for 20 mins, then spread it over
the reserved cinnamon sugar and bake it for
10-15 mins until deep brown.
· STEP 6
Now mix the syrup with 2 tablespoons of
water as soon as it burns and come out of oven brush them with syrup then leave
it to cool a little. Now to make icing beat the soft cheese icing sugar and
vanilla together. And then slowly add 2 to 3 spoons of water to create a thick
consistency. And finally put icing on buns.
Nutritional benefits of cinnamon
It
has anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties it has many medical
and smoothing properties which are used in herbal medicine. anti-microbial
effects may also help prevent tooth decay and minimize halitosis.
Reduce the blood pressure there are some evidences that
consumption of cinnamon effect on short term reduction in blood pressure and we
all see that there is huge rate of patients of blood pressure in Pakistan so it
is beneficial for those people as well.
Lower blood
sugar control It has been suggested that cinnamon may also have a moderate
effect on to diabetes but this also need more human trails to confirm that
weather it is effective or not.
Is cinnamon
safe for everyone?
Cinnamon
are generally considered to be safe. But if it contains high level of compounds
called coumarins. More intake of these compounds may impact blood clothing. Similarly,
if you have a liver disorder you should avoid high doses of cinnamon. Those
taking prescribed medication for blood sugar control should also exercise
caution.
Cinnamon porridge with
banana & berries

Ingredients
100g porridge
oats
½
tsp cinnamon , plus extra to serve
4
tsp demerara sugar
450ml skimmed
milk
3 bananas ,
sliced
400g punnet
strawberries , hulled and halved
150g pot
fat-free natural yogurt
Method
Take a
saucepan mix cinnamon sugar milk and half sliced bananas and bring to boil.
Turn down the heat and cook for 4 to 5 minutes and whisk all the time.
Remove and
divide in 4 bowls top with remaining bananas strawberries and sprinkle of
cinnamon.
Heat the oven to 150C/ 130 fan/ gas 2. In an ovenproof dish, thoroughly
mix the oats, cinnamon, sugar, and the milk. Cover with foil and cook for 45
